Child in Khiva

We are three days into our trip and the non-stop traveling has left us exhausted. We have already traveled over 15 hours on planes (not counting the hours waiting in airports) and have been trying to take in a much as possible before it becomes physically and mentally challenging to continue. We have already spent 4 hours in Istanbul, 6 hours in Tashkent and now a full day in Khiva. I would like extensively document our first three days but my brain won’t fully cooperate so I will do what I usually do…I will substitute photos for prose. Today we had an opportunity to tour the Uzbek town of Khiva and quickly became local rock stars as almost all of the younger Uzbek locals felt compelled to have their photos taken with us…I assume that they do not get many folks from the US visiting their country. In return, I had an opportunity to take some photos of some of the children playing in the streets. They seemed extremely happy running around their neighborhoods doing various chores for their parents and/or just playing games with each other. Here are some of the better ones…
