My Vespa GTV and I arrive at Lake Cumberland
I decided to take my first long ride on the Vespa GTV and packed the camping gear and made my way to Lake Cumberland, KY this past weekend. It is a trip of about 150 miles on KY back roads that I extended another 25 more miles so that I could cross the Tennessee border. Had a great buffet lunch at the Lake Cumberland Lodge when I arrived and then setup camp and then went out exploring the area. I will say that I enjoyed the experience much more than I anticipated and look forward to planning much longer trips…probably next year. I have to get comfortable doing some basic maintenance so I am not stranded in the middle of nowhere. Still, the little scoot easily did 70mph on some stretches of road and could keep up with the cars with no problem. Here are a few more pics:
